Xavi Bertomeu, CISO and Security Audit Hub Director

Xavi has been involved with cybersecurity from the beginning, starting with the goal of unifying two different business models with all their policies and ways of working. In the meantime, the team has grown considerably, and is ready to export its expertise to other areas of the Schwarz Group companies. Below, Xavi gives an insight into his exciting job and tells us why it is worth working in Information Security & IT.
 
How did you get your job?

"I started in 2019 as a CISO at SCRM (Schwarz Digital Customer Loyalty Hub), where I was exposed to many cybersecurity challenges common to digital businesses. Later, I was appointed Security Audit Hub Director, with the goal of providing pentesting and cybersecurity audit services to all companies within the Schwarz Group."
 
What do you enjoy most about your job?

"The best part of my job is equipping the first European retailer with the right cybersecurity tools, services and advice."
 
Who fits into your team?

"I place a lot of importance on people having their own opinions and I consider myself an entrepreneur. I want my team to be energetic and proactive, as well as problem-solving oriented. Of course, I also consider hard skills, but the resume is not the most important thing in my view. With the right attitude, everyone has a chance to be part of my team."
